Such a unique and deep teaching about the historical roots and the meaning of the word ‘wisdom’!

In Buddhist teachings wisdom seems to be understood as clear seeing without the obstacles of a conditioned mind filtering out the reality of how things actually are.

Neel wanders all over the place, over many philosophers, over many millennia, perhaps reciting the history and roots of "Wisdom". Of course, he's writing an article.

I think an expression like, "insightful understanding of connections" or "discriminatory understanding of causes and connections" hits the nail on the head.

He did not say anything about intuition. Lord Buddha's title derives from the Sanskrit word "buddhie" which translates to "intuition" and no one, bar none, ever, was, is or will be wiser than Lord Buddha (I am not a Buddhist).

If Neel had knowledge of the Vedas, he would have known "wisdom" for Vedas talk of wisdom from a million viewpoints and endlessly elaborate, marked by complexity, fullness of detail, or ornateness.

There is a sense of correct judgement in wisdom, an appeal, when impressed upon the listeners, makes them enlightened and they humbly admire the utterer and fall at her/his feet, in utter adoration. For it makes them meek and see real.
