Feedback from Attendees
Totally worth attending. I look forward to the next event.
Excellent presentations from a multitude of perspectives delivered by experienced, capable, and engaging philosophers and psychotherapists. While each presentation was unique, there were lots of compelling interconnections among them.
It was an informative and useful introduction to one of the fundamental characteristics of human behavior. Anger affects us all, it affected humans since before history, it will affect us in the future. To explore the theme is to get further on the road to self-improvement and towards a better society.
Thank you to the Plato's Academy Centre team, the moderators and all presenters for this gift of knowledge.
Time well spent.
A fascinating and high quality seminar. The interdisciplinary presentations were well presented, thought-provoking, and thoroughly entertaining. Plato’s Academy Centre is a wonderful initiative. Their events could change your life, and they deserve our support!
It was an amazing event!
An insightful exploration of the topic discussed from different perspectives both ancient and modern, psychological, philosophical, mythological and literary. Additionally, it was packed with a plethora of useful techniques and approaches to deal with anger
Great event that will leave you with more questions that answer which is exactly what philosophy is all about!
A great event - informative - I enjoyed it very much.
Loved it!
Plato's Academy Centre is simply doing the much needed elevation of Stoicism in the modern world. The workshops are helpful to network with others around the world who want to connect with fellow travelers.
The conference was exceptionally well organised, with brilliant speakers who shared valuable resources and offered deep, thoughtful insights while keeping the content accessible to all. The panel discussion was especially engaging—clever, sharp, and rich in perspective.
A wonderful event featuring a broad array of experts. I learned a ton of philosophy and psychology and look forward to the next event!
The level of importance, coordination, timing, balanced leadership, relatability and professionalism presented in this event is obvious and astounding! As someone craving a Stoic community and finding it severely lacking in my locality, this live engagement materialized the community I have been craving! I can do this too. Thank you!
A seriously comprehensive look at the psychology and philosophy of anger, covering a great range of academic, clinical, historical, and philosophical views on the topic. If you love learning high quality information and integrating this into a well-rounded view of topics in psychology and philosophy, this event is for you!
Excellent format - beginning with the ancients' take on the main subject ( anger) and then riffing off from there on modern therapy modes to help people deal with the emotion more effectively
Being new to the study of Stoicism, I found this to be an excellent expansion of the application of the Stoic philosophy to psychology and am excited to learn so much more.
Anger can be such a destructive emotion. Plato's Academy Centre's forum on the Philosophy and Psychology of Anger was so fascinating in that it drew together the ancient and the modern, the practical and the research. The biggest insight for me was that there needs to be more work done to help us to cope with this emotion. Also, there are techniques in both the the ancient and the modern that perhaps can help us to lead more peaceful lives. We just need to do more work with the connections.
Amazing lineup of speakers- so many viewpoints, all interesting, all with profound insights about the topic. It was enlightening to hear from different disciplines (philosophy and psychology) on one topic.
This was a great learning opportunity from a very able and broad range of experts in the field of anger and stoicism. I am looking forward to other presentations of this nature. Congratulations!
Very informative and enjoyable event! I really enjoyed the different perspectives on anger and its management, from the Ancients to today's evidence-based therapies.
This was a thoughtful way to examine Stoics as applicable to modern life, and this presentation enriched my appreciation of both psychology and philosophy.
It was a pooling of KNOWLEDGE, NOT of IGNORANCE.
I didn’t miss a second of the entire symposium so that should tell you how much I enjoyed it. Bravo!!
Fascinating discussion of science backed ancient wisdom.
I was engaged the whole time. Every speaker kept my attention and provided thought provoking epiphanies.
I had never studied philosophy but attended this event at the recommendation of Dr. Walter Matweychuk. I was pleasantly surprised, and found myself completely engaged the entire time. Thanks to this event, I'm now interested in reading the classics written by the ancient philosophers mentioned.
The multidisciplinarity of The Philosophy and Psychology of Anger was a refreshing and thoroughly enjoyable experience. As someone with a background in science and a personal interest in classics and philosophy, I found this event to be a delight. It was insightful to learn from individuals knowledgeable in the classics, behavioral science, psychotherapy, and philosophy, all striving to bridge the interdisciplinary gap. I believe everyone, including the audience and speakers, gained a deeper understanding of anger, a topic that is often slippery, understudied, and mystifying.
The choice of expert is second to none, the information is clear.
This is the only community that I have found that has brought the approach of philosophy and psychology together.
Please continue to present similarly on the practical application of stoicism as a design for living
What Donald and his team have done with Plato's Academy is incredible, and inspiring. I am grateful for the thoughtfulness that goes into these webinars, and for the chance to engage so deeply with important, challenging content that is centered on Stoic philosophy.
Very valuable and informative. Well planned and delivered
I have not been disappointed on any of the events thus far. I usually find some helpful information as well as links to new study resources.
I found the diversity of academic and practical expertise stimulating and challenging.
This online workshop, I believe, was top notch. Great material and selection of presenters. Showed the many nuances and layers of anger and how to manage this emotion. Thank you!
Wonderful conference! Thank you all involved. I watched it live up to about 3 1/2 hours in and was grateful to be sent the link to watch the rest. I look forward to your next event. Thanks again!🎉
I so appreciate the time that went into this symposium. I was actually interested in the topic of anger and stoicism (anger wisdom) and doing research for an article, so it was very exciting when I came across this event. Thanks so much!
Brilliant speakers, down-to-earth organisation. Always a treasure trove of information and knowledge.
